This easy E diminished chord shape is played using the 3rd and 5th frets. The root of the chord (E) is at the top of the chord. You can also play the open 1st string, which doubles up the root note (using the exact same octave). How to play the easy open E diminished chord

  • Place your 3rd finger on the 5th fret of the 4th string.
  • Place your 1st finger on the 3rd fret of the 3rd string.
  • Place your 4th finger on the 5th fret of the 5th string.
  • Strum from the 4th string to the 2nd string.
