This piece features a ‘call and response’ between the lead melody and the bass melody. From a technical perspective, this creates a challenge when moving between the higher strings and the lower strings. As the call and response component is designed to replicate two separate instruments, an effective approach is to create tonal differences between the two melodies. This can be achieved (for example) by applying a palm mute to the bass melody, or picking the lead melody towards the bridge of the guitar.
