A Diminished (A°) Chord – Easy Open Shape

The easy open A diminished chord shape is played within the first two frets. From a ‘shape’ perspective, it is the same as the classic, open D chord shape, but played on different strings and in the first two frets. It also has the open A string. How to play the easy open A diminished chord

  • Place your 1st finger on the 4th fret of the 3rd string.
  • Place your 2nd finger on the 2nd fret of the 3rd string.
  • Place your 1st finger on the 1st fret of the 2nd string.
  • Strum from the 4th string to the 2nd string.
